(Note: I suggest using this story later in the year. After hearing lots of stories with similar endings, the surprise ending of Katrina stealing the glue from Glues-R-Us and running from the police was a huge hit. The class made the most of acting out the ending, too. They got a little wild, but in the best way!
Additionally, I didn’t include the amount of time I circled on the school supply vocabulary. I made sure to list all of the things over and over because that was what my true purpose in this story is. The students need lots of repetition with props to successfully acquire the language used.)
Había una chica que se llamaba Katrina. Katrina tenia 15 años y vivía en St. Louis.
Katrina fue a una escuela: Sr. Fernandez Academy. En SFA, el principal se llamaba Sr. Fernandez. Él era muy estricto.

Katrina estaba triste. Katrina fue a Target. Había un chico en Target que se llamaba Carlos. Katrina le preguntó, “¿Tienes pegamento?” Carlos le respondió, “No, lo siento.”
Katrina fue a Office Max. Había una chica en Office Max que se llamaba Tina. Katrina le preguntó, “¿Tienes pegamento?” Tina le respondió, “No, lo siento.”
Katrina estaba triste. Katrina fue a Pegamento’s-R-Us. Había un chico que se llamaba Johnny. Katrina le preguntó, “¿Tienes pegamento?” Johnny le respondió, “Si, tenemos mucho. Cada pegamento cuesta 259 dólares.”

Translation:
There was a girl named Katrina. Katrina was 15 years old and lived in St. Louis. Katrina went to school at Mr. Fernandez Academy. At SFA, the principal was named Mr. Fernandez. He was very strict.
In SFA, students needed 5 things: a backpack, a pencil, scissors, a book, and glue. Katrina had 4 of the things, but she didn’t have glue.
Mr. Fernandez was angry. Mr. F told Katrina, “You have 3 days to look for and find glue. If you don’t, I am going to expel you!”
Katrina was sad. She went to Target. There was a boy named Carlos at Target. Katrina asked him, “Do you have glue?” Carlos responded, “No, sorry.”
Katrina went to Office Max. There was a girl at Office Max named Tina. Katrina asked, “Do you have glue?” Tina responded, “No, sorry.”
Katrina was sad. Katrina had an idea. Katrina went to Glues-R-Us. There was a boy named Johnny. Katrina asked him, “Do you have glue?” Johnny replied, “Yes, we have a lot! Each one costs $259.”
Katrina was sad. She didn’t have $259. Suddenly, Johnny left and Katrina stole a glue. Johnny saw her and called the police, but they didn’t capture her because she hid in a trash can.
Katrina went to SFA. She gave the glue to Mr. Fernandez. Mr. Fernandez gave Katrina a High Five. Mr. Fernandez was happy and Katrina was happy, too.
