Tell Your Story: Gearing up for ACTFL 2019

It’s finally ACTFL Week! I am looking forward to going and meeting with old friends and making lots of new ones. There are lots of guides for what to do and how to make the best of your conference experience. You can be sure I will be consulting Martina Bex’s and Maris Hawkins‘ guides to having a great conference experience.

Big Announcement: I’m presenting at the conference this year!

I am always humbled and a little bit shocked when I have a presentation selected for a conference. It is truly an honor to share what I know and what I have learned with others in this setting.

This year’s presentation is called, “Tell Your Story” and it’s all about how to present comprehensible input to elementary students using stories. Stories connect people to language in a way that emphasizes understanding and community over language rules. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned about using stories (not just with TPRS!!!) in elementary and middle school classes from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Come join me and we can talk all about it!
